Active Storage, Inc. is pleased to announce the release of Active Viewer 1.1, an enhanced version of the well-received Active Viewer iPhone app. Designed to allow customers to monitor their Active Storage high-performance RAID systems worldwide—directly from their iPhone, this hard-working app has been updated with input from customers who have grown to rely on Active Storage for all of their professional data storage needs.

Like all Active Storage products, ease of use and clean, intuitive design is a hallmark of Active Viewer. Using it is as simple entering the publicly available IP address (or using Bonjour discovery) of the Active Storage RAID systems to monitor.The user instantly gets an ‘at a glance’ view of system performance and utilization. Green lights mean the system is working correctly, while a red light appears if a redundant field replaceable component needs attention. Users can simply dial Active Storage Support directly from the application - or dispatch a Storage Administrator to the precise component identified by the Active Viewer. The app also allows users to:
• Monitor Power, Fans, Fibre Channel connectivity and System Temperatures
• Receive detailed system information like uptime, rack location and network address
• Drill down to individual RAID Controller info: firmware level, utilization, even cache memory battery backup health
• Look up RAID array information like number of arrays and status
• Reveal Drive information such as number of individual drives and health
