Alex Grossman | CEO
Alex Grossman is a 20-year veteran of the storage industry and a former Senior Director at Apple where he was responsible for driving the development of Apple’s server and storage products. Prior to joining Apple, Grossman was Sr. Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and New Product Development at MicroNet Technology, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of hardware storage solutions for creative professionals and IT managers. Grossman has contributed to several patents associated with storage technology and led the team that developed the first FireWire based Storage Area Network.
Mark Lonsdale | SVP, Engineering
Mark Lonsdale has more than 15 years of storage industry experience. Prior to joining Active Storage, Lonsdale was a Sr. Director of Engineering at EMC. Prior to EMC, he co-founded WysDM Software where he was responsible for the development of the WysDM product suite, as well as working closely with key customers and partners in the Finance, Telecom and Technology markets. The company was sold to EMC in 2008. Before co-founding WysDM Software, Lonsdale was a Director of Engineering at StorageNetworks, responsible for overseeing engineering for StorageNetworks backup service offerings. Lonsdale also spent time at Goldman Sachs, as part of the Storage Engineering group, with responsibilities for evaluating and introducing leading-edge storage technologies to the company.
Skip Levens | VP, Business Development
Skip Levens has 20 years of marketing and technology experience, most recently serving 8 years at Apple. At Apple, Skip was responsible for Global Partnerships with companies such as Kodak, America Online and Netscape before becoming the Server and Storage Technology Evangelist in 2002. In this role Skip spoke and toured worldwide while leading Marketing and Technology partnerships in support of Apple Server and Storage initiatives. Prior to joining Apple, Skip served as Director of Marketing and the Webmaster for the Bay Area’s largest luxury real estate brokerage firm, winning several awards for marketing and branding excellence.
Seth Cohen | VP, Worldwide Sales
Seth Cohen brings over 20 years of professional sales and management experience to Active Storage having held executive roles with Apple, Canon, CompUSA, SanDisk, and MicroNet. Seth’s career is marked by continually delivering superior growth and building sales teams whose passion is providing superior customer service and satisfaction. Seth’s expertise within high technology industries, enterprise and consumer storage combined with a responsibility for strategic sales has led to outstanding performance and record sales results.
Paul Phillips | Managing Director, EMEA
Paul Phillips has over 20 years of experience in data storage. He created and developed the sales channel for MicroNet Technology, Inc. (outside of the USA). He was Founder and Managing Director of United Digital. Most recently, Paul was EMEA Sales Director for Kazeon Systems (now EMC SourceOne eDiscovery).
John Bertagnolli | VP, Software Engineering
John Bertagnolli has been developing storage software for the last 10 years of his 20-year career. After joining Apple in 2000 he managed a team of highly talented software developers on various projects in the professional desktop, server and storage programs. Prior to joining Apple John worked as a senior software engineer at Prosoft.
Sal Munar | VP, Hardware Engineering
Sal Munar has more than 30 years of hardware engineering experience. Throughout his career he has been instrumental in delivering mission-critical projects ‘on-time’ and ‘on-budget.’ Most recently, Sal drove embedded design aerospace projects at Northrop Grumman Space Technology. Prior to that Sal worked at TRW on Security and Solid State Disk Systems.
Jim Wayda | VP, Core Software
Jim Wayda has over 20 years experience in the design and delivery of high performance storage solutions. Jim’s experience includes senior level positions for the architecture of storage products for iStor Networks, Inc, Dot Hill Systems Corporation, Digital Equipment Corporation, Distributed Logic Corporation, Plessey Peripheral Systems, and Transitional Technology. Jim currently has twelve patents pending in the areas of snapshot and data replication.
